This blog is a personal first stab at defining a particular world setting for a far future based role playing game campaign and then bringing it to life using my own house ruleset.  It was introduced on 1.17.10 to my weekly gaming group to see how gaming theory survived actual players.  They are learning about the rules system and the world by personal discovery so it’s a continuing story.  While I set this up primarily for them to organize and capture events from the sessions, I also welcome constructive questions and comments from interested persons.

Recap:

CoG2 is an old, tired world spinning far out from the galactic center.  Its system is in the intersection of several small trade routes so traders often visit but rarely stay in system longer than it takes to refuel and move on.

It has seen the rise and collapse of three human empires for sure, and possibly an alien one as well.  The current human empire ignores it for the most part, though there is an Imperial presence on planet by way of not one but two Imperial cities.

The two cities are located on different continents.  Druk is the typical starport and central government center located on Sunpillar, but the other, located on Remnant, is reported to be a research university campus attached to a mid-sized Colonial city called Cintamani.  As usual, the focus of that Imperial research is not public knowledge, though it is believed to be the study of either the desert or even alien ruins if you believe persistent rumors.

So far:  The party consists of genetically altered teenagers who may or may not possess the potential to wield supernatural physical, mental, or spiritual abilities.  Whether they can control them or not when they manifest is in question as well.  They have successfully passed puberty and started real play as 17 year olds in January on their world.  And apparently someone is watching them…
